SMALL BUSINESS TALK WITH SANDRA PELLETIER

Happy Small Business Week Everyone! In the hopes of recognizing small businesses locally and beyond, Sorelle Gallery owner and entrepreneur, Sandra Pelletier would like to share some insight on the industry and why it's so important to SHOP SMALL.

Sandra Pelletier
WHY DID YOU START AN ART GALLERY/ YOUR OWN BUSINESS?
I was always interested in art so I pursued it through undergraduate and graduate studies.  When I was creating something there was a wonderful sense of calm and challenge.  I was also very good at business and ended up in various high level positions in private industry after college.  Finally I decided to combine the two.  I saw a need for an art gallery that could offer great artwork and also give the ultimate in client service.  Hence the interactive website, advisory service, superimposing artwork on photos of clients walls, complementary delivery and hanging, etc.  I want clients to really love the work they purchase.

WHAT'S BEEN THE BEST PART ABOUT OWNING YOUR OWN BUSINESS?
Seeing it grow and change with each year.  Art and Technology play a big part so we are always on the look-out for new artists, advanced software and updates.  Also, watching a great team come together while respecting individual styles.

WHY SHOULD CUSTOMERS SHOP SMALL BUSINESS FOR ART?

Not just art.  Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy.  It is estimated that small businesses create at least 67% of jobs in the US.  It only makes sense that the community shop local.  They end up supporting the needs of the foundation of this country’s economic force. Besides, it’s a lot of fun to shop in our gallery!  Our motto here is we work hard but always have fun!
